What is at Stake?

Imagine if you will, all auto and truck traffic being charged to pass the line at 60th street in Manhattan. It means that all truck deliveries hit with fees everyday. The amounts of money companies will pay to support the employees still working in Manhattan goes through the roof. All the bodegas suffer, all the restaurants suffer.

The city not only has not recovered from COVID, it is still vastly under populated from those long gone days Michael Bloomberg as mayor when the city experienced a utopian like vibe. Gone are the days we felt safe on our subways. Gone are the days……

If congestion pricing was intended to push out daily drivers, does this actually do that? I know daily drivers that would park uptown and take the 1/2 trains or the 4/5/6 trains downtown.

My doorman commented that he’ll get a divorce soon. Why I asked. “Because I usually drive in to the city for work with my wife who works downtown. We’re not going to pay to cross the lined every day to pick her up or even drop her off. For that matter, I don’t know where I am going to park when congestion hits the upper west side where I work! We live too far to take the train in.
