Congestion Pricing: Day #2

Welcome to day #2 of NYC congestion pricing!

As we saw yesterday, a Sunday, a slow day for any city, nothing really happened. A lot of locals were out, there is little or no impact. All the party set that usually Uber’s home after a long night out were likely all tucked in their beds already.

Today is a snow day. Yep, let’s add congestion pricing to the city when you can’t choose the walk to work or use a bike share! This would have been so much better had it been initiated back when it was scheduled, done as a deliberate act, one of leadership and with purpose. It feels like this was a dump-on, which is like an add-on that you don’t want. It also feels someone politically driven following the election.

We will be reporting daily on the impact of congestion pricing from a locals perspective as we live through this change on the ground here in NYC.

I don’t believe in congestion pricing. Let people work from home, if you want less congestion. Watch smaller businesses have to close and the middle class struggle to pay more.
